Guernsey lights up pink and blue for Baby Loss Awareness Week 2018

St James Concert and Assembly Hall agreed to light up pink and blue on the evening of Monday October 15th, in honour of Baby Loss Awareness Day.

This is a first for Guernsey to mark this important day in the calendar for all bereaved parents, their families and friends to honour those babies who have died.

Guernsey proudly joined the other locations on the map across the UK and CI that lit up in 2018 supporting this fantastic cause.

Guernsey Sands Communications Officer Nicole Bromley said they had hoped everyone took a moment when seeing this local iconic building being lit up to think of the local and nationwide baby loss community.

‘We knew it was going to look stunning but we couldn’t have anticipated how beautiful St James looked all lit up pink and blue’ she said.

‘It’s so amazing that they allowed us to mark this special day in such a special way. We are so proud and know this touched so many people’s hearts here on Guernsey. We certainly shed a tear or two when we saw it.’

Nicole said Guernsey Sands cannot thank St James enough for enabling this to happen.
